When I was younger I imagined that by my age I would have everything sorted, that life would be a straight, clear path to adulthood. In my naive mind ‘sorted’ meant to be in a loving relationship with a noisy home filled with the sound of children; to have a successful career that I enjoyed and could fit around my family; to have no debt; and finally to be sure of myself and know where my life is heading. Oh the joys of youthful dreams, of lack of experience, of the world being your oyster.
At the age of 38, I am…
- a mum to one
- currently unemployed
- up to my eyeballs in debt
- clueless about, with not one teeny tiny idea of, where my life is heading
But there is one thing that I am pretty sure that I have got right – my daughter. So I thought I would write about my ups and downs, successes and failures. My journey of how I am finding the way.
